Hout
Bay is under the aegis of Sea Fisheries, but the Harbour Master
virtually has all the control over yachts on the Hout Bay
Yacht Club Marina.

Approach
& Radio Procedure
Visiting
yachts should phone the Marina Manager, before departing for
Hout Bay. The Marina Manager, has his new office at the site
and is contactable between 09h00 to 13h00 every day, except
on Wednesdays and Sundays on 790 7095. The Club Secretaries
are available Monday to Friday 09h00 - 16h30. Hout Bay is
a fishing harbour, with a growing recreational fleet of yachts,
and yachts are requested to keep clear of fishing vessels.
On
arrival during night hours, yachts are requested to tie up
at a vacant mooring and contact the Marina Manager the following
morning who will direct them to an available berth by radio
(channel 71) if needs be.
Clearance
Formalities
Visitors
should report as soon as possible to the Club to complete
formalities and obtain their electronic access card for which
a refundable deposit of R50 is payable. Foreign yachts and
yachts departing overseas are required to obtain a letter
of clearance from the Yacht Club. Final Clearance is given

Port
Facilities & Regulations
The
Harbour slipway can be used for yachts with the permission
of the Harbour Master; however fishing vessels will get preference.If
visitors wish to moor alongside the Sea Fisheries jetty they
must also contact the Harbour Master.
The
speed limit in the harbour is 3 knots.
