The boatyard is suitable for both storage and casual fitting out by members and visitors. The gates to the site are some 9 metre wide allowing the widest known production catamaran access to the site. Single, and three phase, AC power is available; the site is floodlit and a watchman is on site at night. For further information please contact the Marina Manager or one of the Secretaries.

Club Facilities & Regulations

The Hout Bay Yacht Club is situated on the harbour side of the bay on the beach and is open approximately 12 - 14 hours per day. All club facilities are available to visitors upon payment of the temporary membership fee of R35 per family per week. The Club runs a fully equipped bar. The galley operates only on Wednesday nights and weekends.

There is an ablution facility and coin and card operated telephone on the Marina and in the club. Members and their guests may wear shorts and shirts, but no bare feet are allowed. Children are allowed in bar area accompanied by an adult, but must be kept under control. No pets allowed in the Clubhouse. Moorings are available to visiting yachts at R290 - R436 per month depending on LOA and temporary membership of the Club is R140 per month.

There is no emergency buoy or towing service run by the Club but there is an NSRI station, in the harbour, which can effect a tow if necessary. The moorings are walk on to the shore with an electronic security system as well as 24-hour Security Patrols. Water and electricity are available on the jetty. Gas bottles and paraffin are available in the Hout Bay Village and food stocks are obtainable from the supermarkets who will provide a delivery service to the harbour for larger quantities of provisions.

There are no yacht repair facilities at the Club but the Secretary or Marina Manager can advise on the various boat repair firms. Living on board boats on the Marina is limited to 3 months.
